Bests

I decided to share the restaurants I have found my favorite meals in. Sometimes the littlest thing makes a difference and sometimes you expect more from what the restaurant has to offer. These are some of my most appreciated moments as well as food.

Sixth Street Grill has a great burger and on Tuesday it comes as a special burger and brew for $7. It is well worth the trip, but I suggest you get there just before 4pm to get a seat. Their parmeson crusted chicken is really tasty too and their service has yet to disappoint.

The Terrace Cafe has really good beer batter onion rings. If they get them crispy enough they are fabulous. If you go often enough they start to call you by name.

Three Forks has wonderful fresh food and their sauces are to die for. A restaurant built with true Eugene ingeneuity. Their hippy bowl, curry, and now breakfast num num. Sorry to say this wonderful Northwest resturant has now closed.....

Turtles makes their own garlic ranch dressing and has a large variety of good eats. Service can take a while so don't go if you are in a hurry, but give it a try. You will want to return.

Evergreen Indian Restaurant has great food, a lunch buffet for testing different items on the menu and the mushroom mutter draws me back every time.

Steve's Breakfast and More offers wonderful deals, large portions and great food. Definately a place you will want to put on your list to try.

Busy Bee Cafe has homestyle food that impresses. Steak fingers with mushrooms and onions... LOVE!!! I could eat a whole plate of the mushrooms, and the green beans have bacon in them. Need I say more.

Kowloon's is one of my favorite places to get takeout or delivery food. Their bbq pork is great and the chicken chow yuk is a particular reoccurring theme. Shrimp sauce here is fabulous for just about anything. Yum Yum! I like their sweet and sour pork better than their mar far chicken which is unusual for me. Chicken almost always wins hands down.

Lauk Yaun's special can draw me in any day. I find all my favs on one plate. If only they had Kowloon's sauce. Theirs is close but not quite right.

I have mentioned it before but Mookies house salad is something I will go for all on it's own... Mookies has now closed permanently.

On to national chain restaurants

El Torito's new pineapple corn tamale (no longer available, it was a seasonal special)  has become my new obsession... I have a passion for mexican restaurants so when I find something this good I want more.
I have returned since that visit and been sadly disappointed in the food here lately... How can they ruin grilled veggies.... by adding way too much of the herb they put on it.

Olive Gargen's Zuppa Tuscana always gets my attention. Their specials draw people in and are usually good even though they could use some more variety.

Just went back to Lee's Villiage in Springfield and have to say they have a great lunch menu with friendly to the wallet prices. I loved the fact they were still serving lunch until 3pm even on the weeekend... The food was great too.
